Team Spotlight
This issue's team spotlight is on Linda Ellis-Johnson, co-chair of the Tulane Prevention Research Center's Community Advisory Board (CAB). Linda is a retired educator previously employed by Computer Science Corporation in Indianapolis, Indiana, Indianapolis Public Schools, Orleans Parish Schools, and Jefferson Parish Public Schools. Linda holds an Associate of Arts Degree, Bachelors of English Degree, and a Masters in Guidance and Counseling. In addition to leading the Tulane PRC's CAB, she presently serves as President of the Woodmere Civic Association, Secretary of West Jeff Civic Coalition, Sisters Together Woodmere Facilitator, Vice President of Woodmere Senior Citizens Guild, a choir member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, and Vice President of the Chocolate Diamonds Social & Pleasure Club.

Recent Tulane University graduate Chyna Johnson spent five days in March in the footsteps of abolitionist Harriet Tubman this week as part of a 100-mile trek along the route of the Underground Railroad. Louisiana Obesity Commission publishes annual report Since 2014, the Louisiana Obesity Prevention and Management Commission has been tasked by state lawmakers to address obesity statewide and its associated diseases, such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease. The commission recently presented its annual report to the state Legislature.
